Things I Talk About

Hauntings begin. Reports of dead family members rising grow. Seeing "monsters" of the Celts have become more frequent.
This represents the beginning of the Gaelic festival Samhain, said "sow-in" for those not of Celtic descent, or All Hallows Eve as referred to by few mortals and "monsters."
Though these creatures are slowly dying out because of human expansion, they all return to their village as the humans return to their homes when the gates of the dead open for these 2 nights and all those trapped within are released unto the mortal realm.
The creatures call themselves "Citizens" within the village to show they are accepted peoples. These creatures also fear no mortal. The only ones the feared are their demon lords, like Balor, or rulers of the village; the ones they truly hate are the gods, like Odin with his Gungnir and the Valkyrie who favor bringing mortals into Valhalla before themselves.
But there is one more type of people they hate and despise - they are the Strangers. Most who survive will be quarter mortal and the rest being monster. But should they carry any amount of human blood to carry a human's scent, they shall be ridiculed and potentially tortured, beaten, and any other form of punishment, which all leaders have agreed upon.
Since the rule was enacted, many have been shamed from their village and died painfully. Today, it is rare to find a scented Stranger, but there is one family that barely lives on today. The family full of half-blooded men and women, the son of Morvan, Cuilliok, and the daughter of Rhiannon, Nimue, the last living of their kin.
During the days of Samhain, the punishments get increasingly worse as the evening gets closer and creatures - Dullahans and Banshees as examples - rise once more.
Note to all mortals: I pray for your sanity to remain after the reading of this story. You are either very brave or foolish to continue reading.
Note to all Citizens: I hope you shall never have ancestors damn you or have descendants bring shame upon your family, for it is a terrible tragedy for the Stranger in question.
Note to all Strangers: I'm sorry.
Enter the world of the Citizens and Strangers near the time of All Hallows Eve.
